Welcome to Rochester, New York! While cities such as Rochester are greatly overshadowed by New York City,
these places, including Rochester, are still well worth visiting.
Rochester was one of the first "boomtowns" in the United States, meaning it experienced huge growth in its economy and population in a very short period of time. The city kept
gaining traction as the birthplace of some very notable companies, such as Eastman Kodak, Xerox, and Western Union. Today, the city is defined by education and technology. It is
home to schools like the University of Rochester and Rochester Institute of Technology, as well as music schools such as the Eastman School of Music, one of the best conservatories
in the world.
The city has also been the home of serval notable people, including Olympic soccer player Abby Wambach, social reformer and women's rights activist Susan B. Anthony, as well as social
