Iowa

Welcome to the state of Iowa! Though not generally considered a fascinating state, there are some interesting aspects about Iowa.

To start, Iowa's economy is strengthened greatly by the amount of corn grown there. Infact, 92 percent of the state is covered in farmland, allowing it to grow massive amounts of corn, more than entire countries such as Mexico. However, the main source of income for the state is manufacturing. Namely, food processing companies are extremely prevalent in Iowa, but electrical equipment, chemical products, and metal companies also employ a great deal of Iowa's citizens. It is also the only state in the United States to begin with two vowels. One last interesting fact to note is that Iowa is the only state which is bordered by navigable rivers from both the east and west.
