Welcome to the first route in the state of California! As previously mentioned, California used to be the home of an extraordinarily diverse group of Native Americans, but now, it is a hub for thinks like pop culture.

The image to the left (courtesy of chensiyuan / CC BY-SA) is of Yosemite National Park, one of the numerous national parks in the state. However, it also has an extensive coastline filled with beautiful sunny beaches such as Venice Beach and Malibu (information courtesy of Wikipedia.com).

This is a long ride, at 292.3 total miles. It also features a large difference in space between checkpoits, ranging from 28.9 miles to 136. Remember that you don't need to make it to a new checkpoint each and every time you ride.
